Not all beeswax burns the same way.
If you’ve ever worked with beeswax from different sources, you’ve probably noticed it: one batch burns cleanly and slowly, another smokes or drips. The wax looks the same – but the results aren’t. That’s not bad luck, it’s chemistry.
Melting point should sit between 62–65 °C. Too low and candles soften in warm rooms; too high and they become brittle and prone to cracking.
Acid and ester values tell you how the wax was processed and whether it’s been adulterated. A proper lab analysis will show both – and any reputable supplier should provide this without you having to ask.
Total hydrocarbons are worth paying attention to, especially if you’re producing candles for certified or premium markets. A value below 18% is the benchmark for high-quality candle wax – it indicates clean beeswax that burns without unwanted residues.
Our wax is tested for all of these parameters by accredited independent laboratories, and the reports are available to every customer.
